Advisory & Coaching
The deal, the technical solutions, and the psychology to optimise both and drive valuation. For founders raising and investors deploying.
Most value is lost in the gap between the two sides of the table.
The founder cannot see the deal as the investor sees it. The investor cannot see the company as the founder lives it. And between them sit the politics that decide as much as the numbers: who is in the room, who is trusted, whose account of the business is believed.
A deal needs more than execution. It needs someone who can shape the strategy that brings the right deal to the table in the first place, then hold the room while it closes. I have sat on both sides. That is the work. To bring the right deal, not only to process the one in front of you, and to close the gap before it costs you.
I advise on what moves the number and decides the outcome.
Valuation, and how to defend it in a room. Capital structure and the instruments held within it. The sequence of a raise and the narrative that carries it. Terms, protections and control. The bridge between the legals and the financials, where founders are most exposed and where my work is strongest.
Ten years in M&A and private equity. I know what sits in the investor's mind because I have held that seat. I teach founders to read the deal from the other side of the table, which is the largest edge available to anyone who raises. I teach investors what to look for in the Board deck, what questions to ask and how to protect themselves in the next round when they are removed from the day-to-day.

For when the work must be done, not only advised on.
A financial model built from a blank sheet, or an existing model reviewed for what it assumes and where it breaks. Each company is different and each model is dynamic.
Legal documents read across the deal: term sheets, shareholder agreements, subscription agreements, sale and purchase agreements. A precise account of what every clause does before it binds you. Transaction documentation and due diligence.

The part a standard adviser does not offer.
Money is only ever a means. I work with founders and high performers on what they are building toward, and on holding themselves steady while they build it. Technical fluency and real industry knowledge, alongside the interior work. Not a career coach. Closer to a financially literate confidant who understands the psychology of success.
